1840, p. 76: 20002-00001 (note: the female is probably Martha Hicks; she was actually younger than indicated and should have been enumerated in the age 15-20 category - such census errors are not unknown; no proof has ever been provided that Calvin had a previous marriage, and other sources name Martha as the mother of Calvin's oldest sons. The two boys aged 0-5 are Calvin's sons Elijah and Aaron. The identity of the other male 20-30 is unknown; note that if Calvin J. Butler is the male age 15-20 enumerated with Absolem Butler in 1830, then the other male 20-30 enumerated here could be the younger male 10-15 enumerated with Absolem in 1830 (it is apparently not Wiley W. Butler who is enum. here with Calvin J., as Wiley W. Butler is enum. separately. If you have documented proof of a parent or sibling of Calvin's, please contact me immediately!)
